			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Wood River Amateur Radio will have a class next month for anyone to obtain a tech class FCC Amateur radio license. The dates are Monday Nov 7 and Wed Nov 9(6:30 to 9:00pm) at Zaney&#8217;s Coffee in Hailey. The test will be given the following Thursday Nov 17 at 6:30pm.  The cost will be $25 including test for first responders(fire,rescue,forest service, and law enforcement) All others will be $50 including test.</p>
<p>This license will enable one to use the Baldy/Galena repeater system which works from Stanley to Twin Falls including the SNRA. In case of a disaster situation or back country emergency this may be the only communications.</p>
<p>There are now over 200 Amateur/Ham radio operators in the Wood River and Sawtooth Valley. A $100 handheld radio and class will prepare you for an emergency situation.
